Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of Stealing The Preacher by Karen Witemeyer as a member of LitFuse. All opinions are my own.
A cowboy who wants to be a preacher. An outlaw’s daughter who wants to change his mind.
On his way to interview for a position at a church in the Piney Woods of Texas, Crockett Archer can’t believe it when he’s forced off the train by an outlaw and presented to the man’s daughter as the preacher she requested for her birthday. He’s determined to escape–which would be much easier if he could stop thinking about Joanna Robbins and her unexpected request.
For months, Joanna had prayed for a minister. A man to breathe life back into the abandoned church at the heart of her community. A man to assist her in fulfilling a promise to her dying mother. But just when it seems her prayers have been answered, it turns out the parson is there against his will and has dreams of his own calling him elsewhere. Is there any way she can convince Crockett he ended up right where he was supposed to be?
My thoughts:
Stealing The Preacher is one of those Christian novels that has everything you want in a good book. There are funny moments along with parts that really grab your attention and make you excited to turn the page and keep reading. And there is enough romance to make you fall in love with the characters and want to see them be together, without throwing a ton of sexual content in the mix. That’s my kind of romance novel.
I love the journey that Crockett and Joanna take together in her quest for a minister. I could relate to Joanna in her desire for her dad to reclaim his faith and move past his stubbornness. And I love the connection between Joanna and Crockett and everything that took place form beginning to end.
Western romance novels are my favorite and Stealing The Preacher doesn’t disappoint! I am so glad I received this book to read!
