Aloe Vera face toner is the way to go. As I get older, I realize my skin needs more and more hydration. My face, in particular needs more love. In my teens and early twenties, I discovered that my face did better with simply warm water and a wash cloth to cleanse it. Anything else caused breakouts and irritation. Now that I’m over 40, I need cleanser, hydrating toner, serum and moisturizer with spf to keep my skin looking its best. About Tone & Balance Aloe Vera Face Toner
Tone & Balance is a hydrating toner for the face that includes aloe vera, collagen, vitamin B and silk amino acids. Aside from its cleansing ability, it is great for freshening the skin, setting makeup and reducing redness and inflammation. It works well for all skin types.
It does include fragrance from botanical extracts but the scent is light and fresh. It isn’t overpowering or overly floral – just clean. The formula feels very lightweight on the skin and isn’t greasy or oily. It dries down to an invisible finish.
Tone & Balance is a neutral product that is formulated to help balance all skin types – including normal, dry, combination, oily, sensitive and acne-prone – when used regularly throughout the day. At its foundation, this aloe-based product is a gentle but effective facial toner that removes excess sebum (skin oil) and remaining traces of makeup and impurities after cleansing, while restoring the skin’s natural pH.
I mentioned in my previous post several of the ways Tone & Balance can be used. Here are 4 of my favorites.
1.) Primer and Toner: Before the application of makeup apply Tone & Balance to prime and tone the skin.
As a toner, I use it at night, before my serum and moisturizer. I also use it to remove makeup remnants. So, I clean off my makeup with a makeup wipe or cleanser. Then I spritz a little Tone & Balance on my face and wipe off any residual makeup with a reusable microfiber round. (see photo below). Then I spritz my face again and let it dry. As it’s drying I apply my serum followed by my nighttime moisturizer. I do this on my face, neck and chest.
For daytime use, I apply it as a primer before applying my makeup. I like to apply a light spritz to my face, after moisturizing with an SPF moisturizer, and let it dry. I just do a light coat. I know this is backwards to how I use it at night but this works as my primer. Then I apply my makeup, as usual.
2.) Setting Spray: After applying all my makeup, I do another light spritz to set my makeup in place. Let it air dry.
3.) Refreshing Spray: Apply throughout the day to refresh and re-hydrate the skin. (Tip: keep a bottle of Tone & Balance refrigerated for the ultimate midday pick-me-up.)
I love this, especially, on hot days! They sell a travel size but, for now, I have some in a small travel spray bottle, in my purse. When I get hot, I just spritz a little on my face and neck and let it dry. It cools me down and refreshes my face and makeup, while adding some moisture.
4.) Sunburn Relief: Apply to burned or sunburned skin for soothing relief and aid in the reduction of inflammation.
This is my #1 tip, especially for travel! We like to go swimming in the summer and when we travel, we always try to find something with a pool or near the beach. Even though I’m a sunscreen fanatic, we tend to get a little sunburn on our shoulders and nose. It’s easy to sweat the sunscreen off your face and get a slight burn before you can reapply. So, I keep Tone & Balance in my cooler. It works amazingly, on its own, to soothe sunburn and feels even better when it’s cold!
