Every Thanksgiving and Christmas I enjoy making Cinnamon Spiced Pecans for my family. I love munching on them even more!!!! Here is the recipe I use. It is a variation of several recipes I have tried over the years. Some you bake, some are stove top. None of them satisfied my Cinnamon loving tooth. We are named Cinnamon Hollow you know. 😀
Most included other spices as well and for these, I wanted a full-on cinnamon-sugar flavor. So this is my own recipe, using a stove top method, and you are more than welcome to give it a try! I also have a sugar-free version and will include it in the recipe card notes section. (originally posted December 23, 2010, this article and recipe was updated Dec. 19, 2023.)
This Cinnamon Spiced Pecans recipe is incredibly easy to make and doesn’t take very long at all. 20 minutes tops and, sometimes, not even that long, depending on how long it takes your sugar/sweetener to dissolve.
While this is a sugared version, you can easily make them sugar-free by replacing just 2 ingredients, both found at most grocery stores and online at Amazon.
For the sugar-free version of our cinnamon spiced pecans recipe, you’ll replace the evaporated milk with either half&half or almond milk for a more carb-friendly version. You’ll also replace the sugar with a 1:1 sugar replacement. I prefer a monkfruit/erythritol blend like Lakanto. (affiliate link) I’ve had great results using this sweetener in this and many desserts where the sugar is part of the bulk. It measures the same as sugar so I don’t have to try to convert the recipe!
Eat these pecans by themselves, on top of ice cream or in our Apple Cinnamon Monkey Bread recipe that is perfect for breakfast on Christmas Day (or any day)!
Recipes To Use These Cinnamon Spiced Pecans
- Apple Cinnamon Monkey Bread
- Apple Bread Pudding With Apple Pie Moonshine Glaze
- Apple Crack Dip: Caramel Apple Dip – you can use these to dip with!
Cinnamon Spiced Pecans
Ingredients
- 3 cups pecan (halves)
- 1 cup sugar granulated
- 1/4 evaporated milk
- 2 Tbsp butter (melted)
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon (yes, it sounds like a lot, but, trust me!)
- 2 Tbsp. water
Instructions
- Mix sugar, evaporated milk, salt, cinnamon and water together in large non-stick saucepan, over medium heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
- Continue stirring until sugar is completely dissolved.
- GENTLY fold in pecans. They will break easily so fold them in very gently.
- Stir for 5 – 8 minutes, until pecans are thoroughly coated.
- Add melted butter and stir until very little syrup remains. (I like little extra coating on my pecans for a candy-like crunch)
- Remove from heat
- Immediately turn onto wax lined cookie sheet.
- Spread into a single layer (some overlap is ok)
- Cool Completely
- Once cooled, break apart and store in airtight container. (after you've sampled a few of course!)
Notes
1 cup Moknfruit/Erythritol blend sweetener (granulated) like Lakanto
1/4 half & half OR almond milk
2 Tbsp butter melted
1/8 tsp salt
1 Tbsp. cinnamon. yes, it sounds like a lot
2 Tbsp. water
