Making The Switch To Organic Toxin Free Beauty Products – Part 2

As mentioned in my previous Toxin Free Beauty products article, I am on a mission, here in 2020, to rid my home an family of as many toxins as I possibly can. From our diet, to our beauty products, to wellness to cleaning supplies. I’m getting rid of as much toxic stuff as I can.

We teamed up with the folks at SuzanneSomers and I ordered a ton of products to test out and share with you. In my previous post I shared 4 great products and, in this post, I share another 4.

I loved them enough to become an insider! Affiliate links have been used in this article. When you make a purchase using my links, I will receive a small commission with NO fees passed to you, to help offset the costs of running our site.

Let me show you the products I’ve been using. I’ll talk a little about each one and tell you what I love/don’t care for about them.

First, here’s the photo showing ALL the items I received. You’ll see the first 4 as well as the ones in this post:

Suzanne Summer Is Near Kit
WOOT! It felt like Christmas morning!

So, in this post I’ll be talking about these:

  • Suzanne Organics Wild Orange Vanilla Lip Balm & Lip Scrub Duo
  • Suzanne Organics Everyday Cleanser – Travel Size
  • Suzanne Organics Calming Toner – ravel Size
  • Suzanne Organics Get Set Foundation & Honey Loose Powder Kid in Natural Sand

Suzanne Organics Wild Orange Vanilla Lip Scrub and Lip Balm Duo

Suzanne Organics Wild Orange Vanilla Nourishing Body Lotion

OOOOH Y’all! Wild Orange and vanilla. The End.

Seriously, I lve, love, LOVE me some good lip scrub. Add to that the fact that I’m a self-proclaimed lip balm fanatic and you can see why I’m so excited. I’ve had lip balms in the past that I adored because they were medicated. Since then, I’ve found that essential oils heal my lips the same way without toxic products right on my mouth!

This lip balm and lip scrub duo is incredible. The flavor is delicious! It is super orange and vanilla tasting. Again, like an orange cream popcicle.

The scrub is fairly course and really gets that dry , chapped skin off without damaging your lips. You add just a tiny bit and massage GENTLY in circles to remove the chapped skin. Then you follow up with the lip balm and your lips a ready for slip stick and/or smooching!

These products have ingredients like Jojoba Oil and Grape Seed Oil as well as Bergamot, Blood Orange, etc. The lip balm does have beeswax, so if you’re allergic, please be cautious. You can find a full list of ingredients on the product page:

Suzanne Organics Everyday Cleanser – Travel Size

Suzanne Organics Wild Orange Jasmine Deodorant

I wanted a travel sized facial cleanser and toner that would fit in either our toiletries bag or in my go-bag. Sometimes, I like to keep beauty products in my go-bag, instead, so I can grab them without having to get into the suitcase. This Everyday Cleanser in travel size is available in a 1oz spray bottle, perfect for travel! You can also get in in 4oz and 6.6oz. I plan on getting a bigger bottle and using it to refill my travel size, as needed.

I usually use fractionated coconut oil and re-usable cotton pads to remove my eye make-up. I like that this cleanser is gentle enough to do so without having to take extra products when we head out.

The Everyday Cleanser is mild enough to use twice per day. To use, you just apply it to dry skin.  Wet fingertips and massage to cleanse dirt and make up. Remove with warm washcloth. It does not lather like many cleansers so it doesn’t dry your skin out from harsh chemicals. Just rub it in and wash it off. Done and done!

It features skin loving ingredients like aloe and Calendula flower extract. Calendula is great for inflammation and problem areas on the face which makes this a great cleanser for every day use.

The scent is super mild. It just has a nice, clean smell to it. I can’t explain the scent… just clean and fresh and refreshing.

Suzanne Organics Calming Toner – Travel Size

Suzanne Organics Calming Toner - Travel Size

Like the Everyday Cleanser, I wanted a toner, in a travel size, that could go in either my toiletries bag or go-bag. This toner fit the bill in a 1oz bottle. It can also be purchased in 4oz and 6.6 oz sizes.

Creates a “Liquid Highway” to Help Skin Accept Nutrients from Organic Anti-Aging Serums, Lotions, and Moisturizers. Unlike toners with alcohol that close pores, this Calming Toner opens the pores to create a liquid highway to help the skin accept the nutrients in the Ageless Serum and BioaActive Moisturizer.

Alcohol can be incredibly drying to the skin. I know! I make my own sanitizing spray, using 190 proof alcohol and my hands are super dry if I’m not careful! So, alcohol is the last thing you want in your facial products, like toner.

This toner actually works much like a primer. It creates a “stage” for your makeup to cling to, without clogging your pores. Includes olive leaf and willow herbs – these organic ingredients moisturize, creating that “liquid highway.” It can also be used as a misting spray to re-hydrate your face throughout the day.

Like the Everyday Cleanser, it has a wonderful clean aroma. There are no synthetic fragrances so that fresh, clean scent is all natural from plant extracts.

I have not used these 2 products a lot because I want to save them for the next time we travel. I have used them a few times, each, though, and so far I am in love. The cleanser is lightweight and rinses easily and the toner is fresh and clean feeling and dries really quickly. Together, they made my face feel incredible and my makeup looked flawless and didn’t cake up.

Suzanne Organics Get Set Foundation & Honey Loose Powder Kit

Suzanne Organics Wild Orange Jasmine Deodorant

Last but not least… the Suzanne Organics Get Set Foundation & Honey Loose Powder Kit.

  • SUZANNE Organics Sheer Flawless Foundation
  • SUZANNE Organics Loose Powder (Honey)
  • SUZANNE Organics Powder Brush

I saved this one for last because I’m a little bit disappointed.

Not in the quality, but in the color!

I knew the loose powder came in the shade Honey and would be a bit dark for my complexion but decided I could use it as contour. So, I used the color guide, shown below, to choose the shade for me. The lightest shade was “Natural Sand”.

Suzanne Organics Get Set Foundation & Honey Loose Powder Kit - Color Choices

I’m VERY light complected so I chose the shade “Natural Sand” It looks a bit dark in the photo but based on the model, it seemed like it would be good for my skin tone. It is NOT! At. All. As you can see in the following photo, it is much, much darker than my skin tone. There is no way I can blend this enough to not be too dark. I even tried blending with my super light powder. NOPE!

Suzanne Organics Natural Sand Foundation Too Dark

So, I’m a little disappointed that the foundation is too dark. I won’t review it based on the color, but rather the overall quality.

With that said, it covers really well! A little goes a long way too. I applied it to my hand, before and after the toner, so I could get a good up close look. It didn’t cake. It smoothed over hand and left a silky, smooth finish. You can see how it looks as well as how dark it is, compared to my skintone, in this photo.

Suzanne Organics Get Set Sheer Flawless Foundation

The ingredients list is absolutely beautiful in both the foundation and the loose powder. This set features  Aloe Leaf Juice, Jojoba, and Grape Seed Oils. There are NO parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances. So it’s better for your skin and your body.

It doesn’t have a nasty chemical smell either. It smells nice and feels lightweight and not heavy. I’d love to be able to tell you how it performs all day, on my face, but I wasn’t able to test that without looking ridiculous with an orange face and light neck and body. It just didn’t suit my complexion.

If you are tanned or have darker toned skin, this foundation would be great for you! I don’t recommend it for fair toned folks, though. I would definitely try this product, again, in a lighter shade because that foundation feels amazing! It’s just too dark for me.

After testing out all these products, I can honestly say the Suzanne Somers Organic ToxinFree beauty products are amazing! I highly recommend them and plan to continue using them. My absolute favorites are the body butter in rain scent, the lip scrub and lip balm and the Summer Is Near kit. That foundation would be high on my list if the color was right. The toner and cleanser are among my favs, especially for travel and I’m really excited to see how well the deodorant performs.

I will be posting, often, about SuzanneSomers.com products so be sure and subscribe to our newsletter and YouTube channel for updates and videos!
