Peeps Inspired Easter Baskets + Printable Easter Sign

My mom always went all out for me at Easter. She usually made my Easter basket. Sometimes she, literally, made the basket! She always include stuffed animals, figurines and candies. She loved Easter and I try to keep that alive with my own kids.

My son is of the age where he no longer wants to hunt for eggs on Easter Sunday. He still likes to get an Easter basket from us, though. Gone are the days where his is filled with all the cutesy candy and collectibles. Now, he likes a basket filled with some more teen geared items. One thing he always wants in his basket, though, is PEEPS® Marshmallow Chicks. Those are his favorite Easter candies. I decided that an assortment of PEEPS® would be a great addition to his basket and just decided to give it a PEEPS theme!

The PEEPS & COMPANY® products and information have been provided by PEEPS & COMPANY®.

PEEPS Flavored Marshmallow Chicks

All 4 of our kids love PEEPS®. That is one candy that I can never go wrong with in their baskets. I may or may not sneak one or two myself. 😀 This year, for our son’s basket, I had to really put my thinking cap on for items to include. Candy is easy but I wanted to make sure I include things he can use and will really love.

He loves root beer but I don’t let the kids have soda very often so I decided to include a bottle of his favorite root beer. Every Easter basket has to have a chocolate bunny so I bought one of those. He loves dark chocolate but I couldn’t find any dark chocolate Easter bunnies. That would have been perfect! I did find some dark chocolate for him though. I figure the chocolate bunny, some MIKE AND IKE® Jellybeans and the PEEPS® and we’re good on candy.

For the girls, I always give them a small stuffed animal or little figurine along with their candy. I also include some cute jewelry or nail polish, maybe some new sunglasses and bubbles. They’re easy to buy for. The boy? Not so much.

I’ve wracked my brain and I think I’ve finally come up with some ideas for him. There’s a video game that he’s been wanting. So I got that. He needs some new ear buds. I may look in the $5 bin for a new movie he’d like. I haven’t done that  yet but that would be another good thing to add to it. His favorite place to eat is Subway so I got him a gift card for there.

I have a little plush PEEPS® that I added too along with some PEEPS® earbuds. Those are kind of cutesy but I think he’ll get a kick out it. It will help carry along the theme of his basket.

So here’s what I chose for my teen son’s Easter basket:

  • Assorted varieties of PEEPS® candy
  • Chocolate Easter Bunny
  • MIKE AND IKE® Jellybeans
  • Dark chocolate
  • Root Beer
  • Ear buds
  • Video Game
  • Subway gift card
  • $5 movie
  • PEEPS® earbuds
  • PEEPS® plush

How does it look? There’s a ton of candy and goodies in there!

For our son, I found a really big basket that can be reused either in the house or if he wants to keep it, in his room with Honey (our cat) or to hold video games, movies, etc. It was easy to put together once the ideas started flowing. The girls baskets are smaller but they have quite a bit of goodies inside. I hope they all love their baskets this year!

I also have a little Easter gift for you! I created some digital Easter eggs for another project and made a little Happy Easter sign that you can print out. Since I made our son’s Easter basket PEEPS® themed, I also decided to make a second sign with some PEEPS® inspired bunnies in the corner. Then I decided I wanted a horizontal version so I made those too! I hope you like them!
