My Thoughts On Wily And The Canine Pandemic
This book is so neat! The storyline, the characters… everything! The food is described in detail along with the ship and the characters. I love that Wily was written with such a big heart and so compassionate. He is so sweet. I also like that, after being bullied on the bus, he has such an instant connection with Mindia. Wily must learn to let go of his past with bullies and a dad that doesn’t understand him and find the courage to do what’s right.
This story is about more than people’s love for their dog’s. It is about finding yourself. There is action, mystery, mythical creatures in a modern world, spells and science. There is some mild violence. Nothing you wouldn’t see in an action film or even some of the books in the school library.
I don’t want to give any spoilers so I’ll just say that both my 10 year old daughter and I enjoyed this book! We loved reading it together. While it is a book you could read in one sitting, reading it chapter by chapter (one a day) with your kids is a great way to read the book together! If you’re child is looking for a book to read over Spring Break, this is it!

She grew up in the burbs of Detroit with five brothers. No sisters. Each time her mom brought the boy bundle home from the hospital Michelle cried, certain her mom liked boys better than girls. But when her brothers pitched in with the cooking, cleaning, and babysitting–without drama, Michelle discovered having brothers wasn’t so bad. They even taught her how to take direct criticism without flinching, which comes in handy with book reviews.

I wish more parents would read with their kids. I used to try, but my kids would flit around the room. They couldn’t sit still and weren’t interested in the stories. It was frustrating. They still don’t like to read today, and they’re in their 30’s. Thank you for your sweet review. Tell you daughter I said I’m glad she enjoyed the story.
